Snape Brothers

Coming onto the Newcastle music scene in the early 1980s, the Snape Brothers: Mick, Chris & Russell, have forged their mark in a small part of Newcastle's music history.
In 1981, the boys from the bush left their hometown of Quirindi with their then band ‘Hadley Rill’, travelling to expand their crowd base while spreading their infectious love of music to the lower hunter region.
Armed with 4-part harmonies and a passion for the greatest music of the time - be it country, rock, disco or any other genre from their repertoire of many - Hadley Rill were able to entertain a variety of different crowds. They backed many headline artists in their early days, such as Sherbert, Mi-Sex, Jon English and Richard Clapton; a testament to their popularity.
Through the years, the Snape Brothers have kept their unmistakable sense of humour and an easy-going attitude that shows in every performance. Though their attitude may be light-hearted, they are able to maintain a high level of professionalism while playing.
The Snape Brothers are highly sought after by many venues, not only in the Newcastle area, but also all over north & north-western NSW. They recorded their first album in 2000, largely for the sake of prosperity, but also received unexpected recognition from a crowd of followers that were already fans of the boys from the country. For this reason, the album was a greater success than thought possible for the Brothers, as it was appreciated by locals who followed their music and some of which, still do to this day.
Content to be playing many of the same venues since coming to the Newcastle area, the Snape Brothers have maintained their high quality 3-part harmonies, musicianship and sound. Though more mature than some acts in the current music scene, the Snape Brothers are still one of the most sought after trios around. They are available in band format (with the addition of a drummer) and are well suited to corporate and private functions.
